The Dream

Andy, Nancy and their three girls have been on the mission field for five years. Not long after their arrival they began taking short-term teams and then interns. That is how I, Sara Tady, first met the family. The Raatzs enjoy partnering with teams and interns to build and encourage the local churches in Moldova. They also enjoy sharing their love for mission and Moldova with those who come. But the request for internships in Moldova has become more and more frequent. Many people need college credit, want a first hand look at missions or just want see if missions is really for them. The summers became overwhelming.

I arrived for a more permanent stay last April, right before the busy season. I was excited and amazed at how many people were interested in Moldova, but I could see that we needed a plan. Through prayer and discussion Breaking Ground was born. A chance for interns to come, learn language, get involved in helping the local church and immerse themselves in the culture. Our dream is that young people will get a passion for missions and love for Eurasia. We want them to understand the need to love the people they work with and learn about the culture. We want to see good missionaries born.
